Why I Started Making Candles

Why I Started Making Candles

Sometimes, life takes us on a completely different path than we originally planned, and that’s exactly what happened to me.

I always wanted to sell pastries. Baking was my dream, my passion. But there was one big problem: I lived in a small house with a tiny kitchen, sharing the space with a roommate. We didn’t even have an oven, so practicing my baking skills was almost impossible.

One day, while scrolling through videos online, I came across candle-making. I had never really thought about making candles before, but something about it caught my attention. The more I watched, the more fascinated I became. It reminded me of baking, measuring ingredients, melting wax like chocolate, adding scents like flavours. It felt creative, hands-on, and fun. That’s when I decided to try it myself.

But my love for candles wasn’t just about making something beautiful. It was also about how they made me feel.

I work as a waitress, and if you’ve ever worked in a busy restaurant, you know how chaotic it can be. The noise, the rushing, the endless movement, it can be exhausting. After a long shift, all I wanted was to come home to a space that felt peaceful. Lighting a candle became my way to unwind. The soft glow, the gentle flicker, the calming scent, it created an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation.

So I thought, why not create my own candles? Not just for myself, but for others who also need a little peace in their day.

That’s how my candle-making journey began. What started as a small interest quickly turned into a passion. I love experimenting with new scents, testing different waxes, and designing candles that make people feel cozy and happy. Just like baking, it allows me to be creative and bring joy to others.

I truly believe that candles have the power to transform a space, to bring warmth, and to help people slow down and enjoy the moment. My goal is to create candles that do just that, candles that make you feel relaxed, comfortable, and at home.

If you’ve ever thought about starting something new but felt like life was holding you back, I hope my story encourages you. Sometimes, the path we think we should take isn’t the one we need to take. And sometimes, the unexpected turns lead us to something even better.

I’m so grateful for where this journey has taken me, and I can’t wait to share my candles with you.
